Your Resource For Alternative Dispute Resolution

                 OUR SERVICES

Choose the Right ADR Method for Your Case
& the Right Team to Help You

Our team draws from the legal, business and medical arenas. We have mediated, arbitrated, settled, and tried commercial, financial, business, and domestic disputes.
Harness the expertise of the CDSS team to design a resolution method specifically suited to your needs!

Mediation

The mediator works together with the parties to generate solutions to settle their conflict.
Mediators do not render judgments - any resolution reached is one that comes from the parties themselves.

Divorce & Child Custody Services

Parents can agree to mediate their child custody issues at any time; but once a case is filed in court, North Carolina requires mandatory mediation as the first step in the custody process.
Learn More

Arbitration

Arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution process in which the parties agree to submit their dispute to a neutral third party whom they have selected to make either a binding or non-binding decision to resolve their dispute.

File-It-Yourself Legal Clinic

Carolina Dispute Settlement Services is pleased to offer the File-It-Yourself program for people who need an economical alternative to handle their serious legal issues. CDSS contracts with attorneys who provide limited legal advice and document preparation to those seeking divorce or who are involved in child custody and visitation matters.

By appointment only on most Thursdays 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Collaborative Law Institute

The Collaborative Law Institute of North Carolina ("CLINIC") is tasked with expanding awareness and knowledge of Collaborative Practice in all areas of conflict resolution in North Carolina.

Separating Together (Collaborative Law)

Separating Together is not a law firm. Separating Together is a practice group of individual law firms, child neutral specialists, financial neutrals, and divorce coaches who help families transition through divorce in a peaceful and cooperative way using the principles of collaborative law.
