Martha J. Mason, Esq.
Martha J. Mason is a mediator, arbitrator, and attorney. Ms. Mason received her B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1976 and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1981. From 1981 until 1998, she was a litigation attorney and partner with Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan. Ms. Mason has extensive experience in the resolution of a broad range of commercial and business disputes, including contract litigation, commercial litigation, and corporate and securities litigation.
Representative Matters:
- Representation of financial institutions in defense of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of good faith, and lender liability claims;
- Representation of directors of savings and loan associations in insolvency litigation;
- Representation of issuers, purchasers, lenders, directors, and officers in securities fraud litigation;
- Representation of insurance companies and insureds in insurance coverage litigation;
- Litigation arising out of the construction of franchise agreements;
- Litigation of non-compete agreements and other contract provisions.
Ms. Mason has practiced extensively in the state and federal trial and appellate courts. She currently has a solo law practice restricted to alternative dispute resolution.
