Mark A. Springfield, Esq.

Mark A. Springfield is a certified mediator and attorney. Mr. Springfield received his B.A. Degree from Wake Forest University in 1981, where he had a double major in Economics and French. He attended The University of Georgia Law School. He was selected to serve on the editorial staff of the Georgia Law Review during his second and third years of law school and graduated cum laude in 1984. Following law school, Mr. Springfield had a two-year clerkship with Judge Harold L. Murphy, U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Georgia where he assisted the Judge in federal civil and criminal trials.

During the first fifteen years of his career, Mr. Springfield concentrated on litigation in the federal and state courts, trying cases involving commercial disputes, personal injury and products liability.

In the last five years, Mr. Springfield has concentrated his practice on alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and collaborative law. As a mediator, Mr. Springfield prefers the model called “Transformative Mediation” in which the mediator plays an active role in helping to improve the interaction of the disputing parties and leading them to discuss strategies for resolving conflicts in ways that are mutually beneficial.
