John Obiol, Esq.
John A. Obiol, JD, has over twenty years of professional legal experience. Over the course of the last eighteen years his practice has included a wide range of employment cases including race discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation in the federal courts. He has handled cases ranging from wrongful termination, state personnel records, employment security compensation, private disability, ERISA to social security disability. He practices in courts at the administrative, state and appellate levels. He is a member of the following courts:

- US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina
- US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina
- US Court of Military Appeals
- US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
- US Supreme Court
Mr. Obiol is a partner in the Law Firm of Huggard, Obiol and Blake, PLLC. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a certificate in Superior Court Mediation. Recognized for his expertise in arbitration and mediation Mr. Obiol has served as an instructor training other arbitrators and mediators in a variety of business and governmental settings. He has served on the Board of Directors for Haven House Services since 1991 and the Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1985.
