What are your rates?
Rates for neutrals vary depending on the process and neutral selected. Generally, for mediation and arbitration rates are between $125 and $300 per hour. Mediation usually has a one-time administrative fee of $125 and arbitration administrative fees are $200. Community case and family mediation fees are based on a sliding scale that takes into account the income level of each party individually.
Do you take credit cards?
At this time, we do not accept credit cards. Payment may be by cash, check, or money order. Please make checks and money orders payable to CDSS.
How big are your conference rooms?
CDSS has seven conference rooms available. The largest may accommodate groups up to 12 persons. If your case requires additional seating, we will make arrangements.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation fees depend on the process and neutral selected. Generally, cancellations without penalty require 10 business days’ prior notice.
Do you have a VCR or DVD player?
Yes, we have television, VCR, and DVD equipment.
Do you have computers with internet access for client use?
The office has access to several wireless network providers. If you plan to use a computer for an extended period of time or for personal use, it is suggested you bring your own laptop computer. If you need access to a computer for limited time and purpose, one of the staff will make one available for you.
What are your mediation and arbitration rules?
All mediators subscribe to the Standards of Conduct promulgated by the NC Dispute Resolution Commission and uphold their rules for civil court mediations. Rules for arbitration generally follow the Revised Uniform Arbitration Act (NCGS §1-569.1-§1-569.31) unless the parties’ contract specifies otherwise. Several arbitrators are AAA certified (American Arbitration Association).
